PRIDE. PASSION. PURPOSE.

Work With Pride.

As a life long resident of Prince George's County, I know all too well the steadfast pride that many of my neighbors have for our county. Whether it is a longstanding Civic Association or the campuses of our county's three higher education institutions, each and every corner of our county shows the makeup of our history and our immense potential.

Throughout my career in public and governmental affairs, I have taken that engrained sense of  pride and applied it to the work that I have done.

When you have a dream to make a reality, you truly have to do it with pride. When the going gets tough, it is a person's pride that they have for wanting progression that will motivate them.

Live With Passion.

As a child of two working, middle class parents, I saw first hand how much it takes to juggle multiple roles, simultaneously. At times, I am sure it was rough for them to build a strong and passionate family structure, while also working 40 or more hours a week.

Regardless of the challenges, they successfully raised me and my brother, Kendall. It took a while to understand how they made all this happen. How can two hard working individuals still have time to raise their children with undivided attention?

One word: Passion.

Passion is the emotional investment placed into a situation. I have learned that with every opportunity given, no matter the importance, you must do it with a strong sense of passion.

Act With Purpose.

It is my belief that each of us has a purpose in life. Whether it is the brave duty of serving and protecting our communties as a first responder or the truly humble work of an educator, each one of us,

no matter our respected life journeys, have an opportunity to act with purpose.

I was once told that, "when you walk with purpose, you will eventually collide with destiny".

For a person who has been given many second chances in life, I have taken these wise words to heart.

I have vowed that, with every opportunity given to show my potential, I will act with purpose.
