District 7 School Board Member K. Alexander Wallace Endorsed by Teachers' Union for 2020 Re-Elec
It is with great humility, gratitude, and appreciation that I announce that our campaign has been endorsed by the Prince George's County Educators' Association (PGCEA) for reelection to the #pgcpsDistrict7 seat on the Board of Education!
PGCEA has been one of the top leading voices in our county when it comes to education advocacy and accountability. From fighting for increased compensation to defeating the school to prison pipeline, the members of PGCEA have been a much-needed and respected resource for me over my five years of service.
Over these years, we have partnered to pass meaningful policies to tackle educational inequities, including the enactment of the Community Schools policy and the work on the Kirwan Commission. Through this partnership, we have accomplished so much - but there is still more to be done and I cannot do it without them!
Together, we will make sure that our system has a robust Restorative Practices policy, systemwide.
Together, we will make sure that food insecurity is erased and wraparound resources are accessible for our most vulnerable students and communities.
Together, we will close the digital divide in our county that has been spotlighted during these recent weeks.
Above all else, I appreciate the accountability that PGCEA has displayed throughout the county, especially for the Board of Education. It should not be lost on any of us that we have faced challenges as a system over the recent years, but their voice of accountability has remained on our students and employees; and for that, we should all be thankful.
While our campaign has been endorsed by PGCEA, representing over 10,000 employees, it is going to take all of us, together, to be victorious in June! I hope you will join us in our reelection run, not just because we have accomplished so much, but because so much is left to do!
Stay safe, everyone!
