It is with great humility, gratitude, and appreciation that I announce that our campaign has been endorsed by the Prince George's County Educators' Association (PGCEA) for reelection to the #pgcpsDistrict7 seat on the Board of Education!
PGCEA has been one of the top leading voices in our county when it comes to education advocacy and accountability. From fighting for increased compensation to defeating the school to prison pipeline, the members of PGCEA have been a much-needed and respected resource for me over my five years of service.
Over these years, we have partnered to pass meaningful policies to tackle educational inequities, including the enactment of the Community Schools policy and the work on the Kirwan Commission. Through this partnership, we have accomplished so much - but there is still more to be done and I cannot do it without them!
i am deeply honored to announce that our re-election campaign has received the endorsement and confidence of CASA in Action!
With over 100,000 lifetime members, CASA in Action is the Mid-Atlantic region's largest immigrant and Latino electoral organization.
As the chairman of our school system's efforts on educational equity, the coauthor of our policy on Community Schools, and a strong proponent for immigrant rights and equality, I proudly wear this endorsement as a badge of honor for the work that we, together, have accomplished and as a preview into the collaborative partnerships that will come in the future when we tackle issues like food insecurity and restorative justice practices (ending the School to Prison pipeline).
