Revitalizing our infrastructure

Advocating for better, more reliable infrastructure goes well beyond wider highways and smooth roads. It should include plans for cleaner water, faster and stronger telecommunications signals, accessible public transit, and supporting our state’s international air and seaport.

Our state’s Department of Transportation is one of our government’s largest agencies and, given that, requires additional support and oversight to ensure that our transportation infrastructure projects, support to local, statewide, and regional public transit systems, and commitment to environmental justice for impacted communities all are implemented properly.

Commitment: I will support any effort that increases access to public transit that connects our communities and economies to our regional partners. Recognizing the local, national, and international impact of the Thurgood Marshall Baltimore/Washington International Airport, any measures needed to ensure timeliness of flights, ease of arrival and departure traffic, and accessibility for travelers and employees will have my commitment. Lastly, our state must take advantage of the federal government’s bipartisan infrastructure law that will rebuild our aging highways, replace aging water pipes, and connect more homes to high-speed internet; I will be sure that we do.
